Tom Walbank

"English Tom Walbank," as he was christened when he first moved to the Washington, DC area, has been playing Piedmont-style harmonica for 35 years, and is also a singer and guitarist in the delta style. Growing up in England, he listened to Sonny Terry and Phil Wiggins for inspiration.

Tom eventually moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he played for 25 years, opening for many of the blues players he was inspired by, including Cephas and Wiggins, B.B. King, Lazy Lester, and Robert Belfour. Tom joined forces with the Piedmonsters after meeting them through the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation (aka "The Barbershop").
